Keeping busy + being independent!

Hey everyone! I know I haven't had a personal post in quite some time but here it is. Someone on Tumblr asked me to write a post about my "me" time, keeping busy and being independent, so I'm gonna try my best to discuss how I do that.

Keeping Busy

It used to be really hard for me to keep busy when I wasn't working. I didn't have a job during the summer or go to school so I kinda just sat at home all day unless I was hanging out with someone. It became really difficult because I would just get super depressed very easily (which is another post for another day) so I had to fix that. A lot of you know already but if you don't, I'm super into DIY and making things. If I see a picture of something I could probably easily make it but anyway crafting would always keep me super busy. Making bows and jewerly was really fun for me.  It doesn't have to be crafting, just pick a hobby you're super into and just do it. Or even try something new!

Reading is another good thing to do to keep busy. I could spend hours reading. I used to never ever buy books until I discovered dollar book stores and buying books from thrift stores and now I'm obsessed. I can't stop, I have so many books I have to read but I've just been so busy with work and such and I don't have time. I think everyone would love reading if they just found the right book, so just research or even ask me, I love giving book recomendations.

I also love catching up on my tv shows! I don't really watch a lot of tv but there are a few shows that I'm really into:
-RuPaul's Drag Race
- New Girl
-Girls
-Friends
- Sex and the City

Also try not to spend your entire day on the internet! I know how hard that can be especially with Tumblr, eBay, Pinterest and all that. Go outside and do stuff you don't normally do!

Being Independent

I always thought I wasn't independent at all. It took me a long time to finally get a job so for a while I never had any money like at all. I also don't have a car, I take the bus everywhere. But I thought about it, being independent is just doing stuff on your own. So this is kinda hard for me to write about because I'm still learning, but I will try my best.

Earning your own money and saving it would be very helpful. I am still learning this. I would say when you get your paycheck try not to spend it all in once place. Also putting some of your money in a Savings account would be really good too. Christian is a Finanical Advisor so I try to learn all these good techniques from him. Don't forget to keep track of your expenses!

Going places by yourself is also a good way to start. I know it can be scary at first because you're all alone but it can also be very fun. It also helps because you learn that you don't need people with you at all times.

Doing your own laundry. I know this sounds kinda silly but doing things on your own that your parents don't do for you will help you in the long run, especially if you plan on moving out sometime in the future. I honestly am still working on this, I like to say I'm a late bloomer and there is nothing wrong with that.

If you need any advice on a certain topic, please let me know! I also apologize for the lack of posting, I've been working a lot but I will try to keep up with this blog and also Something Sassy!

Have a great weekend <3
